Ayurveda says that we should enjoy the food we cook and eat, so in addition to being nutritious, the foods are equally as delicious!
About the Course
Many people say that Ayurveda is most alive in your grandmother’s kitchen. At the core, what this is telling us is that Ayurveda is centered around eating proper foods, knowing what spices to include in each dish, and preparing the food with love. These are all equally as important when it comes to preparing Ayurvedic food.
This program is designed to share with you the knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation, gaining wisdom from experience and practice. We are fortunate to have all of these lessons recorded in the Vedas, ready to be shared with the world. Cooking, in any form, is a science full of chemical reactions and lots of experimenting. Ayurveda is a healing science with a large portion of the knowledge base being focused on the proper foods to eat and how to prepare them. This is why we are so excited to offer an Ayurvedic cooking class, it is a match made in heaven!
This program will have a theory and a practical portion. During the theory portion, you will learn the reasoning behind why certain food pairings are preferred and why others are avoided, how to make the best selection for each person based on doshic interactions, time of day, and season, and why when and how you eat is equally as important to what you eat. The practical portion will be very fun and you will begin learning how to prepare these dishes under the guidance of experienced Ayurvedic chefs and professionals.
